Every year we send parent feedback surveys out. We want to know how we are doing as a club (positive and negative) and what we can improve upon.

At our last coaches meeting via Zoom we were honored to have Elliot Fall, General Manager of REAL Salt Lake jump on with us! Not only did he give great feedback and insight on our mission as a club be he highlighted one of our own coaches who has made a huge impact on his team. Coach Rocky Lopez, head coach of the Girls 09 Red team, received rave reviews on his parent survey’s! Here’s a little of what parents had to say:

“He is very knowledgeable about soccer and has a great way of teaching the girls! The way he communicates with them and how he encourages them is phenomenal.”

“He is so dedicated, he sets goals with the girls, and follows through on aiming for them and discussing them all season. He has thorough game and practice plans that the girls have learned to follow… every time a player comes off the field he tells them three specific things they did well!”

What was so notable to us was that the positive commentary wasn’t conditional upon the girls winning games. It was primarily on the development of players and how he helped them achieve their goals through his positivity, dedication and inspiration.

With that being said, we’d like to recognize and congratulate Coach Rocky Lopez for a tremendous job well done! Thank you for all you do for your team and for Cottonwood FC!
