We continue on with our Coach Feature with learning more about Coach Michelle Sadler who coaches our G11 Red team. Coach Sadler is also the Girls Junior Varsity coach at Brighton High School.
Briefly introduce us.
I am the mom of 4 crazy kids (Zach 11, Caroline 9, Tyler 6, and Reagan 4), wife to an amazing supportive husband who let’s me follow my dreams. I was born and raised in Utah and moved all over the valley through my years. I graduated from the U (Go Utes) with a bachelors in nursing.
How did you get started with coaching soccer?
I coached a comp soccer team for a few years during my college years and then took the next 10 years off from coaching, in those 10 years I worked as a nurse and became a mom in addition to playing soccer. When it came time for my littles to play, I started back up coaching
What is your favorite thing about coaching?
Gosh this is a hard one, I love so many things.
I love the energy and the joys coaching brings. Watching players improve makes me so happy. For example, at last weeks game our girls stringed 3 passes together and Jo (Assistant coach: Jordan Smith) and I looked at each other and tears were falling. Tears of joy. I also love the interactions with the players. We have so much fun on and off the field.
Any personal soccer philosophies?
Developing the player on and off the field to become amazing women. And to always have fun and laugh. To always build confidence no matter what.
When you aren’t coaching soccer what do you do for a living?
Mom to 4 amazing kids and help the hubby at his office. I love to water ski and surf. Also love snow skiing. I love to workout.
Anything else we should know about you?
I love my CFC family. We truly have so much fun and I appreciate all the support and love from the girls and their parents.
