Our club just recently added a new team to our roster and we couldn’t be more excited to introduce you to them.
They are the ’01 Red Team, also known as the “Somali Stars” and boy, are they a force to be reckoned with!
We were connected with this dynamic group of refugee boys through Refugee Soccer, a non-profit organization focused on connecting refugees to the mainstream community through soccer. The program provides opportunities for refugee boys to play the game soccer while assimilating in to American culture.
Although a new team, they clearly know a thing or two about the game of soccer…
They will compete in the Spring Provisional league, play in summer tournaments, the Fall League, and compete in the Fall 2018 State Cup as well. We hope that this team will be a positive story, a cause for celebration, and a motivation for others to be involved in this or other worthy and meaningful causes.
